Guiding Light Circle

The UWIF Guiding Light Circle will meet again on Tuesday, November 11, at 1 p.m.

The Hilda Weiss Circle will meet again on Monday, November 10, at 1 p.m.

Prayer Team

The Prayer Team will meet on Sunday, November 9, during the Sunday School Hour.

Hanging of the Greens

Hanging of the Greens – Please join us Saturday, November 29th, between 6 and 8 p.m. to help decorate the church for the Season of Advent!  We also would like to invite all to bring an ornament for our church family Christmas tree in the Welcome Center starting the first week of Advent, Sunday, November 30th.

Thanksgiving Eve Service

On November 26th at 7 p.m., we will have a combined Prospect Street UMC and Crosswood UMC Thanksgiving Eve Service held at Prospect Street UMC.  I invite you to be a part of this gathering of the faithful.

Neighborhood Supper

Our monthly Neighborhood Supper will be served on Friday, November 21, from 5-6 p.m. as a Carry-Out meal!

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child – There is a table in the foyer for filled boxes.  Pre-printed boxes are available there for you to fill. For those who want to furnish items you will also find a box for the items on the table.

How to pack a Shoe Box Gift: Find an empty shoebox. You can wrap the box (lid separately), but wrapping is not required.  Determine whether your gift will be for a boy or girl, and the child’s age category: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Mark your box boy or girl and the appropriate age group.

  • School supplies: pens, pencils, sharpeners, crayons or markers, stamp and ink pad sets, picture books, coloring books, chalk, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, etc.
  • Toys: small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, jump ropes, yo-yos, small Etch-A -Sketch, toys that light up or make noise (with extra batteries), slinky, etc.
  • Hygiene items: comb, washcloth, and toothbrush.
  • Other: sunglasses, flashlights with extra batteries, ball caps, socks, T-shirts, toy jewelry, hair clips, watches, picture books, etc.

Do not include: used items, toy guns, knives, or other war-related items, chocolate, perishable food items, toothpaste, candy, gum, scary or war-related items, seeds; food, liquids or lotions,  liquids of any kind, medicines of any kind, vitamins, glass containers, aerosol cans, or breakable items.  To help cover shipping and other costs, please enclose a check for $10 or more in an envelope. Checks should be made payable to Prospect Street United Methodist Church. Please write “OCC” on the memo line. Place a rubber band around your box and lid, and your box is ready to go.

Laundry Love Ministry

Laundry Love Ministry will be held Monday, November 24, at 4:30 p.m. at the Southtown Cleaners at 355 S. Main Street.  Volunteers are always welcome!
